Bikes and Brews
2024
In 2024, I was honored to design a custom Bikes & Brews T-shirt for Local Motion, a grassroots advocacy organization based in Columbia, Missouri, dedicated to promoting safer walking, biking, and transit.
T-Shirt Commission:
The final T-shirt design was used for the event’s merchandise, helping raise visibility for Local Motion while offering participants a wearable keepsake that embodies the joy of biking in CoMo. The shirt was well-received by the community and became a memorable part of the event’s culture.
The Design Process:
It began with a deep dive into the spirit of Local Motion’s Bikes & Brews event — an evening ride through downtown Columbia combined with stops for local microbrew samples. Local Motion I worked closely with the LoMoCoMo team to capture that sense of community, movement, and laid-back fun. I sketched dozens of iterations, experimenting with iconography that balanced bicycles, hops, and Columbia cityscapes.
